First-year player Henderson has recorded five scores during the current campaign

The New England Patriots tied their top unbeaten stretch since the Brady era as they overcame division opponents the New York Jets by 13 points in professional football

Rookie Henderson led the way with three scores as the New England squad notched an eighth consecutive victory for the initial occasion since star signal-caller Brady's last year with the franchise in the 2019 season

Quarterback Maye passed for 281 yards and a touchdown, connecting on 25 out of 34 attempts

The triumph increases the Patriots lead at the summit of the division as they moved to a 9-2 record, with the Jets at the foot after falling to a 2-8 mark

The visitors had gone in front at Foxborough with QB Fields rushing for a short rushing score to cap the New York's initial series

But the Patriots fought back in the second period as Henderson rushed for two short rushing scores before the ball carrier grabbed a reception from Maye at the rear of the end zone in the middle of the third period to make it 21 to 7

"It was a crucial moment for him delivering, and it's been fantastic for him to keep getting these reps," Maye said of the rookie. "He desires to be great."

Justin Fields found Metchie toward the end of the third period to narrow the deficit for the visitors but Borregales kicked a two kicks in the final period as the Patriots wrapped up the triumph
