Expedition 33 Sweeps at the 2025's Golden Joystick Awards
The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards were hosted this past week, and through an impressive show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the biggest winner. This standout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive secured the coveted Ultimate Game of the Year award, along with honors for Superb Storytelling and Excellence in Visuals.
Enhancing the studio's success, the skilled cast also received individual awards. Jennifer English received Outstanding Lead Performance for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Supporting Performance Award for his role as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive itself was named Studio of the Year. In total, Clair Obscur and its makers collected 7 awards during the show.
Other notable winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Outstanding Audio and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and Premier PC Title. Notably, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the gamers, with only four special—Critics' Pick, Breakthrough, Hall of Fame, and Streamer Selection—judged by experts.
