Ex- NFL Athlete Antonio Brown Enters Not Guilty Response in Attempted Murder Charges

One-time National Football League star Antonio Brown is traveling to Miami to address an murder attempt allegation connected with a shooting that occurred in May, with his attorney entering a not guilty plea on his behalf.

Detention documents in Essex County, New Jersey, show that Brown was released on Tuesday morning for his move to Florida. Brown, a highly popular figures in the NFL, had relinquished transfer to Florida from New Jersey, in which he was held after being taken into custody in Dubai.

Brown’s attorney, Mark Eiglarsh, stated in an email that he has previously filed a documented innocent response to the murder attempt accusation. Brown could be in a Miami courtroom as early as Wednesday early for a bail proceeding, Eiglarsh said.

As per his arrest warrant, Brown is alleged of seizing a firearm from a protection guard after a public figure match contest in May and discharging a couple of rounds at a man he had confronted with earlier. The claimed victim, Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, informed police that one shot scraped his neck.

Eiglarsh stated that Brown was simply protecting himself from Nantambu.

“The measures he was forced to take were exclusively in self-protection against the claimed victim’s hostile behavior. Brown was assaulted that time and acted within his rightful privilege to defend himself,” Eiglarsh stated.

Brown was not promptly detained because at first police did not recognize Nantambu as a target. It not until afterward in May that Nantambu gave a complete testimony about the incident to officers and named Brown as the shooter, the document says.

Based on his social media content, Brown had been staying in Dubai for multiple weeks. In a post after the confrontation, Brown stated he was safeguarding himself because he was “assaulted by numerous people who sought to take my valuables and bring bodily damage to me.”
